COLLECTING

Now we are deeper into the Videopac collectables, Mousing Cat was the last game to be released in a non-plus style box, Black plastic back. At this point, people had started to progress from this "not really a computer, but a games console with a keyboard" into the emerging Commodore Vic 20, ZX spectrum heyday and the G7000/Odyssey2 just wasn't competing. The Odyssey 3 didn't get the backing it needed to compete and the European version, The Philips G7400 wasn't as sufficient a leap to a cartridge independent computer with a keyboard which was where the market was going. from here on in, these games were only bought by those who had not moved away from the console and thus despite still being somewhat available today. they're now titles that came too late to be readily available. by the time of its release, interest in the Videopac console had waned with the onset of how can I put it diplomatically (much better home computers and consoles). As you will see from now on the release variants are severely reduced by this. Mousing cat is an unusual find in the UK and you are more likely to find one in France, Germany and the Netherlands. I think people were also getting a bit bored of the grid/icon games, nothing new or inspiring to be had, and the console was drawing its last breaths.
