Game Goal “New York City is at the mercy of the GREEN GOBLIN. He equipped the city's skyscrapers with SUPER BOMBS. I (Spider-Man) must now save the city. But the GOBLIN will try to stop everywhere. Criminals and time bombs - even the GREEN GOBLIN himself - stand between me and the SUPER BOMBS! Can I save the city before time runs out?” The aim of the game is to defuse as many Super Bombs as possible and score as many points as possible. Controls The joystick and action button are used to move Spider-Man up the skyscraper. First press the action button. Then push the joystick up, left, or right. A line of cobwebs will shoot up or diagonally left or right. (Once Spider-Man is up, you can also shoot the cobwebs down). Release the action button when the intended length is reached. The line ranges from short (by quickly releasing the button and controller simultaneously) to long (by pressing the action button and holding the controller in the desired direction until the line stops). Cobweb Liquid Each Spider-Man has a finite supply of Cobweb Liquid that diminishes over time. The inventory is displayed at the bottom right of the screen. To replenish the liquid, Spider-Man must catch criminals and bombs. When the liquid runs out, Spider-Man falls down and the game continues with a new one (of three). When the music starts playing, Spider-Man starts his mission. Watch out for the criminals. Your task is to stop Spider-Man before he reaches the High-Voltage Tower. The criminals appear randomly by illuminating a window. If the line of cobwebs crosses one of these windows, the criminal cuts through it and Spider-Man falls. Quickly shoot another line or you lose a Spider-Man. Spider-Man can catch the criminals by swinging past one of the windows. Each criminal caught is worth three points and cobweb liquid. When Spider-Man reaches the top of the building, maneuvering becomes a bit more difficult. Here you have to remember that when the web line lands in the sky, it falls down. Spider-Man - Cartridge Spider-Man-Cartridge There are other dangers on the high-voltage tower: the Green Goblin's time bombs. The time bombs have a countdown to detonation, indicated by black to red. Spider-Man can defuse the bombs by sliding his body over them. Black bombs are worth 5 points, red bombs are worth 8 points. Additional cobweb liquid. If Spider-Man's webs cross a bomb or a bomb detonates near him, he falls. With a quickly shot cobweb you can save him or you will lose a Spider-Man. Of course, the GREEN GOBLIN doesn't want his criminals caught or his time bombs defused. So he decided to make the task harder. He has set limits on how many criminals or time bombs Spider-Man can eliminate... If Spider-Man catches too many bombs or criminals, the GREEN GOBLIN will start the super bomb timer. As you move Spider-Man up the skyscraper, listen carefully. If you hear a low tone, the GREEN GOBLIN has started the timer. Get to the super bomb very quickly. On the top of the high-voltage tower is the super bomb - and the GREEN GOBLIN. To get to the Super Bomb, Spider-Man has to pass the GREEN GOBLIN. If he touches Spider-Man or his threads, he will fall down. As always, he can save himself with a quickly shot thread. The Super Bomb can be defused by Spider-Man covering it with his entire body. There are bonus points according to the points scored while climbing the building. Continue with the next building on a more difficult level. The building will then be higher and the cobweb liquid will be consumed faster. There are eight different levels. At the start of the game, the level can be selected directly - after RESET, press 0 (easy) to seven (difficult).
